Stand in Solidarity

Step 1: Sign the Petition

Step 2: Help the Strike

Step 3: Share

What is Our Purpose?

Because you and I share a belief in treating others as we would want to be treated, I ask you to consider signing or sharing this petition that I created.

It demands that our state legislatures withhold support from the perpetrators of this century's most heartless and well documented attack on a civilian population. Our state governments must stop doing business with Israeli companies or those that monetarily support them while their well documented war crimes are ongoing.

Context: Israeli officials have implemented a starvation campaign against the ~2 million civilians living in Gaza. Israeli newspapers have reported that Israeli officers have ordered their soldiers to fire on these starving people as they line up for food. Lt Colonel Anthony Agular, a recently retired US Special Forces officer, has testified to witnessing countless war crimes committed by Israel in his recent weeks in his aid distribution role.

Israeli officials have openly called for a strategy of making life unbearable to these civilians with the goal of theft of their homes and their land by the state of Israel. The International Court of Justice has ruled, based largely on public statements made by Israeli officials, that what is happening now in Gaza is genocidal.

Many think this is a "far away" problem and doesn't concern them. I remind you that our government is funding, arming, and enabling the war crimes of those deliberately making life unbearable to 2 million civilians.

Please sign this petition and share with people you know. Yes, this is an uncomfortable subject. But this action is easy. And the right thing to do while these crimes are being committed is SOMETHING. And you believe in treating others the way you wish to be treated. It's really the only way the world can work.

If you're moved, there's something else you can do too. I am offering some free solar energy to anyone who can more directly withhold their support from Israel. If you know someone who can strike, or withhold labor or business from:

The US Federal Government

A Weapons Manufacturer

or a Shipping Company,

and you live on Green Mountain Power's utility grid, I will share enough solar energy with you to help support you during your strike by essentially paying your electricity bill.

If you want to join me in supporting those who can do more than sign a petition, those whose can withhold energy and work that more directly supports the Holocaust in Gaza, you can enter what you can offer, and which Israel-supporting companies you can boycott on this form; and we can all chip in to make it less scary for those who may need support to take action that requires being brave.

When your grandchildren ask what you did during the destruction of Gaza, be able to say you acted in solidarity.

Respect and gratitude,

Liam

Petition Language:

“I petition my state legislature to pass legislation barring the state or its agencies from contracting with any company based in Israel; any company with offices in Israel; and any company selling or buying more than $100 of product or services per year from Israeli companies or the Israeli government. Insofar is it legal in our state, the state government shall also induce the county, city, and local municipal governments to prohibit contracting with the same entities.”

Withhold Our Support - The Strike and Boycott Strategy

In addition to petitioning our state governments, some of us work more directly for organizations and companies whose resources the Israeli government and Israeli businesses more directly depend on.

Solidarity:Gaza is aiming to help connect and organize these people to act together to make those enabling the mass murder and starvation pay a cost. A strike and boycott are our proposed methods of exacting this cost.

Strikes pose a risk to those engaging with them. It is Solidarity:Gaza’s mission to help reduce those risks by providing tangible support to those on strike and hopefully creating more safety in numbers. The forms here are a starting point to help gather resources that strikers could depend on when they are foregoing their normal paid work, and to help connect strikers with each other, unions, and community.

Enter what you can contribute to this campaign as a pledge, and if we gather enough resources, and enough willing participants, we will reach out to connect your contribution to those who will put it to good use.

Of course, strike are only impactful when enough people are involved to make a difference. The goal is to keep any donations or resources in escrow, holding them or keeping them in pledge form only, until 10 or more strikers are active in single target organization simultaneously.

Boycotts, on the other hand, require less risk, and all of us can play a role. However, like strikes, they matter more when we act in a coordinated way. This same intake form can be used to help us measure the impact we’re having on target companies. We all want to know our actions are helpful. Connecting here through these simple forms helps us all know the magnitude of our collective effort.

The companies and organizations we are suggesting be targeted are ones recommended by BDSMovement.net

Use this form to register what companies you can boycott, and what resources you could provide to a strike campaign.

Use this form if you work for a company/organization supporting Israel, and would like to connect with others and coordinate action.
